and Jet2holidays will resume flights next month on July 15, after pushing back the date.

It had previously hoped to restart trips from July 1 but the tour operator delayed operations due to the ongoing travel restrictions.

The firm is set to ferry Brits to many sunny spots around the world including Cyprus, Montenegro and France.

Customers affected by the delay will be contacted by Jet2, to discuss their options, including rebooking their holiday.

In a statement on Monday, the firm said: “In view of the ongoing travel restrictions that are in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken the decision to recommence our flights and holidays programme on July 15th.

“The health and safety of our customers and colleagues is our absolute priority, and we are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.”

The company said it is “working closely with all relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being” of customers, and will introduce safety measures on aircraft and in transfer vehicles.

It added: “We are also working closely with airport, hotel and tourist board partners to ensure that appropriate health and safety measures are implemented. Further details will be announced in due course.”
